U.S.A Olympic Athletes Set to Beat the Heat in Athens

(PRWEB) August 4, 2004

The Athens Summer Olympics is set to be the hottest on record with possible temperatures over 100F (38C). So after 4 years of dedicated training to reach peak physical conditioning many Olympic athletes have been worried about suffering from heat stress at that final critical moment. Therefore, to combat the summer heat and gain an edge over the competition several USA Olympic sports teams have turned to sports science and a specially designed cooling vest.

The cold vests sold by Arctic Heat USA allow athletes to train harder for longer, thus gaining an edge over the competition. Sports science has shown that by pre-cooling the body the effects of overheating can be delayed, thus providing a significant gain in performance. This means that pre-cooled competitors will sweat less, their heart rates are lower, and more energy can be directed towards producing personal bests rather than trying to keep the body cool.

During the Olympic Games, the cooling vest will be worn pre-event by the USA Olympic athletes in sports such as rowing, swimming, modern pentathlon, synchronized swimming, triathlon, canoe and kayak. A split second is often the difference between a Gold medal and no medal. The Arctic Heat Cooling vest could very well provide that difference.

“Many Olympic athletes who are now using our Arctic Heat Cooling Vests are hoping for extremely hot weather at Athens,” says Arctic Heat USA’s John Surie. “They know that they will gain a substantial performance edge over their competitors even in temperatures as low as 75F (24C) .”

The lightweight Arctic Heat Cooling vest works using a two stage cooling process. The vests contain a gel-like substance that can be frozen or chilled, and will maintain that temperature for up to 2 hours. The cooling vests are manufactured using Woolmark’s SportwoolTM fabric incorporating ‘Vapour Management Technology’, the natural solution for high performance sportswear.

How a New Web Design Helps Homeowners with DIY And Lower Heating Bills During The Recession

Ripon, North Yorkshire (PRWEB) August 28, 2009

For years, underfloor heating has been a mark of luxury and thought to be the preserve of the rich, but in these days of recession, more and more consumers are turning to underfloor heating to save money. An average household can save an estimated 20% on their heating costs by using underfloor heating instead of the more traditional central heating system.

One of the UK’s leading experts on underfloor heating, Floor Heating Online, have recently launched a brand new bespoke website which makes selecting and purchasing underfloor heating simple. An increasing number of people are actively looking to reduce their utility bills but at the same time they wish to add comfort and value to their homes…and underfloor heating can do both.

“We have seen a significant upsurge in sales through our new web site,” says Graham Poole, owner of the company, “which is not only ensuring we as a company are standing strong through the recession, but at the same time it is helping our customers get the products, advice and service they need in order to save themselves money on their household bills.”

The website means that this UK-based national company can market a wide range of the best products and give their clients detailed but clear information about all types of underfloor heating, such as electric underfloor heating or hot water underfloor heating. It enables overheads to be cut, so those savings can be passed onto Floor Heating Online’s clients who always receive fantastic value for money.

As moving house is not an option for many homeowners in the current financial climate, people are staying put but deciding to spend money on improving and updating their properties instead. Installing underfloor heating certainly gives a property a feeling of finesse that can make a house more desirable and potentially easier to sell in the future.

The reason why underfloor heating – especially electric underfloor heating – can cut household bills is due to the efficiency of the system. Warm air generated by the underfloor heating is distributed around room more effectively, so the occupants feel cosy and warm wherever they are and at all times. This means that less power is used overall to maintain a constant optimum room temperature.

So British homeowners can now enjoy a safe efficient heating system that will enhance their homes and save money, via Floor Heating Online’s new website…just don’t tell the neighbours how inexpensive underfloor heating really is!

Company overview:

Floor Heating Online is a British company that brings the best underfloor heating products from industry leaders to UK consumers. As it is an online retailer, a wide range of systems and parts can be offered for sale whilst company overheads are kept low, thus delivering the most comprehensive selection and outstanding value to its customers, plus experienced advice and speedy service. The new website can be found at www.floorheatingonline.com

Heat Pump Blowing Cold Air? Control it.

(PRWEB) January 1, 2005

Heat pump expert Robert Gault, president of Atlas Controls division of Atlas L.C. in Manassas, VA, has come up with a unique patented heat pump control that overcomes consumers biggest complaint with heat pumps – “ in extreme cold conditions, the outside unit may run continuously but it just blows cold air”.

Gault says “The heat pump Maximizer puts an end to the term cold heat; a term too often used to describe heat pumps. The Maximizer gives heat pumps the ability to engage the auxiliary heat at the most economical point of operation. The end result is a warmer home with a lower utility bill. “

The heat pump Maximizer is a new computerized control for your heat pump that tells the system how to most efficiently and effectively heat your house.

According to Gault, “I’ve been a heating and cooling contractor for 18 years and I’ve installed hundreds of heat pumps. I know all about those wintertime complaints! So I invented the Maximizer for my customers.”

Floor Heating Ltd Add Cablewarm Underfloor Heating Mats to their Product Range

(PRWEB) January 7, 2008

The specialist online retailer of underfloor heating, www.FloorHeating.ltd.uk are proud to announce the recent addition of the Cablewarm® brand of high output heating mats to their already extensive range of underfloor heating products. Cablewarm® underfloor heating mats have been added to meet the growing demand for a high output heating mat suitable for areas of high heat loss such as conservatories or where no additional insulation is being installed over a concrete sub-floor.

As Paul Short, Floor Heating company MD says, “We have been selling our standard output heating mats extremely successfully for the past 4 years, gaining thousands of very happy customers as a result. However, we have felt for quite some time that there is a strong demand for a higher output heating mat more suitable for areas of high heat loss like conservatories or where no insulation can be fitted over a concrete sub-floor; both types of installation require a higher heat output to compensate”.

Floor Heating Ltd already offer one of the highest output (160W/m2) heating mats suitable for the majority of underfloor heating applications. However there was clearly a demand for a high output (200W/m2) heating mat suitable for areas of high heat loss.

The addition of the Cablewarm® brand has met this demand. Cablewarm® underfloor heating mats are manufactured from twin conductor, 3.5mm thin profile, earth braided and double insulated cable and are attached to a 500 mm wide, open weave mat backing at 55 mm centres to produce a high output of 200 watts per square metre (200W/m2). Mats come in rolls with a coverage of 5.0m2 – 20.0m2.

By adding Cablewarm® underfloor heating mats to their product range, customers can now enjoy the beauty and practicality of warm tiles in conservatories. There’s also the added benefit of heating without radiators or freestanding heaters.

Full details can be found here: http://www.floorheating.ltd.uk/products.php?CAT_ID=43

World Cooling Towers Market to Exceed US$1.7 Billion by 2010, According to a New Report by Global Industry Analysts, Inc.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) March 5, 2008

World Cooling Towers market is forecast to maintain a modest CAGR of just over 1% over the 2001-2010 period and reach in excess of US.7 billion by 2010. Heavy Industrial & Utility Applications dominate the global market for Cooling Towers, with a share estimated at 35.02% in 2007.

Growth in cooling tower market is likely to be constrained by less frequent investments in end-user segments such as HVAC and power. Increased lead-time for field-erected towers would drive the late materialization of sales. As a result the market for cooling towers is expected to improve in the near future combined with economic revival and increased environmental awareness.

Modular cooling towers are expected to cannibalize the market for conventional cooling towers. This is expected to reduce the cost of cooling tower as the modular cooling towers enable the customers to buy the product in stages and reduce the up-front costs.

Power plants, refineries and industries, where process heat is dissipated, require cooling towers. Cooling by water through cooling towers is cheaper and thus is the preferred alternative the world over. Regulatory restrictions on discharge of heated water into waterways and reduced availability of water, are the two main factors that are expected to positively impact the revenue stream of dry cooling units.

Major companies covered include Baltimore Aircoil Co, BERG Chilling Systems, Brentwood Industries, Cooling Technologies & Services, Cooling Tower Systems, Inc, Delta Cooling Towers, Inc, Evapco Inc, Gammon India Limited, GEA AG, Ilmed Impianti Srl, Liang Chi Industry Company, Mesan, MFRI, Inc, OK-Markovi, SPX Corporation, Star Cooling Towers, Superchill and Tower Tech, Inc.

End-use markets analyzed in the report include Air Conditioning/HVAC, Heavy Industrial & Utility, Chemical Industry and Other Industries
